What are the characteristics of 3M 5461 ?

3M 5461 tape is a single sided adhesive tape from the non-stick range manufactured by 3M. Unlike other non-slip tapes, it has silicone-coated rubber backing material whose main feature is guiding the surface during manufacturing on rollers.

Its anti-stick properties prevent coating build-up on the rollers and reduced noise, and its anti-skid properties provide the positive traction necessary for moving forward over the surface. That is why it is widely used in the printing industry for the manufacturing of paper.

It is very easy to apply, which reduces the downtime of the machine. Its high conformability enables you to cover rollers with a diameter up to 50 mm.
Another advantage : its thinness which enables you to avoid changes of diameter on the roller and the changes of speed for the machine.

However, please note that the use of solvents is not recommended, because they can soften the rubber of the tape. In that case, use PTFE Teflon tape.

Common applications of 3M 5461 non-slip tape include :

• coating roller bars for the manufacture of paper, adhesive material or tacky or sticky material, treated paper, anti-stick or impregnated textiles.
• synchronisation roller padding for mass production of all types of slightly abrasive materials.
• decrease effect of floating edges on rotating equipment
